SAFETY STANDARDS & GOVERNANCE

A clear commitment.
A disciplined approach.

Our safety framework connects responsible sporting practice with the requirements applicable to each activity, aircraft and location.

OUR COMMITMENT

We are committed to following all applicable guidelines issued by FAI and ACI, and all applicable rules, requirements and directions of DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).

Each planned operation must establish its activity-specific procedures and secure the necessary permissions before launch. This statement expresses our operating commitment; it is not a certification or blanket approval by these organisations.

The organisations and their roles

FAI — international sporting guidance

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (World Air Sports Federation) publishes sporting rules and discipline-specific resources. Its CIVL Safety Handbook addresses hang gliding and paragliding; it is not a universal operating manual for every air sport.

ACI — national sporting coordination

Aero Club of India acts as NAC–India. Its published member guidance asks members to coordinate activities in advance and seek applicable sporting clearances or authorisations. We will establish the relevant ACI requirements for each proposed activity.

DGCA — applicable aviation requirements

Our planning requires a review of the current DGCA requirements relevant to the aircraft, personnel, training provider and type of operation. A sporting membership does not replace an applicable regulatory approval.

MoCA — aviation policy and rules

Our planning also considers the applicable Ministry of Civil Aviation policies and rules, together with relevant airspace, state and local requirements.

Applicable Indian law and airspace requirements take precedence over sporting rules, as the FAI handbook itself makes clear.

GUIDANCE INFORMING OUR APPROACH

Learn. Report. Improve.

The FAI handbook encourages hazard identification, clear safety responsibilities, reporting of incidents and near misses, investigation of causes, corrective action and review of whether changes work. It also emphasises ongoing learning and communication of safety information.

Our intended framework uses these principles, with separate procedures appropriate to each discipline. Read the source handbook ↗

AVIORAN’S PLANNED OPERATING FRAMEWORK

Before an activity opens.

People & accountability

Identify the responsible operator and safety lead, verify relevant personnel qualifications and currency, and define who can pause or cancel the activity.

Equipment & records

Establish equipment inspections, maintenance arrangements, manufacturer-limit checks and documented readiness reviews appropriate to the discipline.

Site, weather & airspace

Assess launch and landing areas, obstacles, public separation, permissions and operating conditions. Define activity-specific limits and a clear go/no-go decision process.

Participant preparation

Confirm eligibility, explain the activity and its risks, provide a briefing and equipment checks, and communicate cancellation terms and applicable insurance details.

Emergency readiness

Prepare a site-specific response plan with communications, trained response roles, first-aid arrangements and access to appropriate emergency services.

Reporting & review

Record hazards, incidents and near misses, assign corrective actions, review their effectiveness and communicate lessons to the team.

These are Avioran’s planning commitments, not a substitute for discipline-specific operating manuals, qualified instruction or regulatory permissions. Opening announcements will identify the actual operator and participation conditions.
